The Twelfth month

Welcome to December.

This morning greeted me with a bit of sunshine, but has slowly faded behind the grey skies. We had some snowflakes last night, but not enough for me to worry about as it is all cleared up now.
December can be depressing in a way for me. I love the sun and December brings us to the shortest day of the calendar year. I think that this year instead of fighting depression the whole winter season, I am going to pick up a blue light and see if that helps.
I heard about this when I was on the retreat. One knitter talked about how her doctor recommended them for people who live this far north. Michigan can go days and sometimes weeks without having sunshine, and that makes for crabby people. After living in the desert for a good portion of my life, I know that without sunshine, I am not a happy person. So I went checking online and have found the light for about $100 at Amazon. I can sit with this shining on me ( 45 deg angle) for 15 minutes each morning and see if it helps the depression and crabbiness.
