What's cooking?

Well I am.
For almost a year we have been without an oven. We did get a stove that worked just before Christmas. It was an older model with pilot lights, but it was useful at the time.
The Sgt 100_5964
went and bought me a brand spanking new range on Friday and it was delivered and installed yesterday.

He did request that the first thing I make in it was the cinnamon rolls that he has been craving.

Cinnamon rolls

Easy Cinnamon Rolls

2 cups Bisquick
2/3 cup milk
2 tbl oleo
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbl cinnamon

Mix Bisquick and milk together. fold out onto floured board and pat out to 12 x 10 inches.
Spread oleo over top.
Mix cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle evenly over rolled dough.
Roll up into a tube.

In a round cake pan, generously butter.

Cut tube of dough into 12 pieces and put in cake pan, not too close together.

Bake at 425' for 15 minutes or until golden and tap hollow.

Remove from pan while still warm.

(I sometimes use brown sugar and add raisins or nuts, it is all up to you)

While the stove was being delivered...

I went to Shady Side Farm with Deborah for their sheering day.

I only got to take photos when we went to the shop, as I am a bad blogger and had my batteries die with no back up.

Here is the "Farmers Wife" holding part of my purchases , it is three big balls of polypay wool. The Farmers wife holding my big blue balls
what you expected to see what I bought my swap partner...hmm am I that bad a blogger ?
This is yummy wool for a new spinner to play with and I am planning on trying to make singles with it.
Here is the "Farmers Daughter" teaching a new spinner how to work the bulky wheel.
First spin

Deborah got the pictures of the barn area on her camera, I will grab some soon.
We were able to see a Suffolk lamb that was born earlier that day, plus 5 others (one set of twins) that were born this week. The polypay sheep were getting sheered as they are due to lamb soon.

Thank you to both the Farmer and his wonderful wife for opening their farm for us to learn from.

After we left the farm, we headed down into Holland and went to both Lizzie Ann's Wool Co. and Friends of Wool.
I was able to pick up a Fiber Mania travel guide that will help us plan out our yarn crawl from Michigan to Georgia and back. Some cashcotton for a scarf and a few more items for my Swap partner. I also picked up the Spinoff magazines from Spring and summer 07. They go in depth on how to double draft, spin sock yarn and make self striping yarns.

Your oven is beautiful. The rolls look yummy too. If you lived closer, I would be sitting in your kitchen.

Your new oven looks quite nice. Oh the things we take for granted...now I feel I should bake something tonight. My kids would love the Cinnamon Rolls...bet I could get my daughter to make them.

I just made my husband jump, because after I read that you finally got an oven I squealedout a little too loud. Congratulations and thank you for sharing the recipe.

The polypay looks lovely too.

How the hell did I miss the cinnamon roll recipe? I just saw it and jumped up to make them. Derek just burned himself as he couldn't wait for them to cool, then the next thing he said was "these are great". And his was gone already. :) Thank you, that's 2 recipes (at least) that I've incorporated into my book from you!
